Getting started

From zero to encrypted in about ten minutes. The basics, with no jargon.

Create your Senton account

Head to localhost:3001/sign-up. You only need an email and a password โ€” no phone number, no real name, no payment method up front.

If you want to be extra private, pair Senton with a Senton Mail alias (/mail) so even your sign-up email is masked.

Tip: use a passphrase you can remember (4+ unrelated words). Senton Pass (/pass) can generate and store it for you once you're in.

Sign in with QR code

Already signed in on another device? Open Senton on the device you're trying to add and scan the QR code that appears at localhost:3001/login.

The QR carries a one-time, time-bounded token. It cannot be reused โ€” even by us โ€” and expires in 90 seconds.

Add your first device

Download the Senton app from Senton Store (on Senton Phone or sideload) or from the platform page for your OS. Sign in and the device shows up in your account immediately.

You can name your devices anything you like โ€” "Work laptop", "Tasche", "Backup phone". Random Mullvad-style names (silent-eagle-731, vivid-heron-451) are auto-suggested if you prefer not to leak hostnames.

Sync across phone and laptop

Sync is end-to-end encrypted and happens automatically when both devices are signed in to the same account. Your encryption key is derived on-device โ€” our servers see only opaque ciphertext.

Conflicts resolve via CRDTs (Conflict-free Replicated Data Types) โ€” edit the same note on two offline devices, and both edits merge automatically when both come back online. No "which version do you want to keep?" dialogs.
